This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, obtain official records for you, release a person, or post bond. Contact the government office that holds the record.
Official Offices and Services
Start with the custodian involved. The Southampton County Sheriff's Office handles release and transfer entries for the county jail and jail farm. Court clerks hold case orders and dispositions. VADOC controls state-prison and supervision records. Call before visiting because staff listings, holiday schedules, public access, and copy charges can change.

Use the Board's official contact page and published parole reports. The Board warns that it does not give an individual's decision to third parties by telephone.
Notification systems follow the custody system. Virginia Jail VINE, phone 1-800-467-4943, serves participating local and regional jails and offers continuous automated access with operator help described as available around the clock. State-prison notices use the separate VADOC NAAVI service, phone 1-800-560-4292, for registered qualifying crime victims. A Jail VINE registration does not transfer to NAAVI.
For search guidance, the home page explains county, state, court, and federal paths. The Probation & Parole page explains supervision, while facility pages in the footer identify the correct operator for each Southampton County location.
